CR Cochrane joins LA City's annual Sustainability Alliance Retreat

CR Cochrane enjoyed a Sunday afternoon learning about the connection between sustainability, resilience and our natural resources.  The Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance was formed in 2014 to lead the public in an awareness campaign about environmental issues through public forums and events. The sustainability Alliance Retreat, (held at Reseda Neighborhood Council),  was designed to better inform the public about advocacy within their mission to educate the public, share best practices and present community action on issues such as the drought, the reduction of carbon pollution or climate action.  Their goal is to build sustainable communities that are planet friendly and disaster resilient all across the City of Los Angeles.   Special thanks go out to Joe Phillips of Reseda Neighborhood Council and the Sierra Club, Julie Ha Truong of Envision Consulting, Shelley Levin Billik of EcoBiz & recycLA,  & Retreat organizer Ernie Hidalgo.

CR Cochrane attends VANC meeting to introduce Candidates for California's 45th district Assembly.

VANC (The Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Councils), chaired by founding member and DWP Commissionor Jill Banks Barad, sponsored a Candidate introduction for California's 39th & 45th Assembly Districts.  CR Cochrane (a candidate for District 45), spoke about her plans to ensure that the Homeless population within the West SFV are included within the Valley Shelter Winter busing system. She recommended restorative justice as a viable inclusion for our current criminal justice system; she noted her long time career as a public servant, and she briefly discussed how her ability to boldly advocate will come in handy when dealing with developers & city officials gearing towards more affordable housing for "baby boomers" &  "millennials".
